This year Get to the Point will be offering over 100 stalls and attractions for both young and old.

 

With the help from our sponsors and supporters, we are pleased to announce 100% FREE CHILDREN’S ENTERTAINMENT from 10am until 3pm including but not limited to the following:

Steam Traction Engine
Live Music

Watch some of the country’s top shearers compete for one of the richest prize pools in the South Island with junior, intermediate, senior and open grades competing.

The Pleasant Point Lions Club will once again host the Vintage & Classic car show, with a large turnout predicted after last year’s huge success.

 

The Pleasant Point Steam Train and Rail Car will be running with hop on hop off passes valid all day.

 

We also have the traditional Highland Dancing competition, dog trials, helicopter rides, and have brought back the Tug of War.

 

Local attractions include Vetlife who will be giving demonstrations, O’Rourke Taxidermists, Frocks and Shocks fashion, Pleasant Point Butchery who run the sausage eating competition and a pig on a spit, our newly opened cafe, The Steamer Cafe, serving delicious food and espresso coffee. For all of those who would like a wine or refreshment with a sit-down meal the Pleasant Point Hotel and Restaurant is open for business and under exciting new management.

 

At around 2:45 pm is the highlight of the day – O’Rourke Taxidermist $1000 cash prize giveaway. Entry is free with the coupons in the local papers in the week leading up to 9th November Get to the Point family day. There are 10 nice crisp $100 notes for the lucky winner.

 

We will have over 80 market stalls selling hand made, bespoke items, crafts, furniture, garden ornaments to name but a few.

As usual a selection of food vendors offering a wide variety of food, drinks, and treats -including Gluten Free and Dairy Free options for all.
